Physical Keyboard Shortcuts
I felt like this should be compiled in one place
To Select in GMAIL (not in an editable box):
hold shift and press the Gold Button (center of D Pad)
- use you finger to select the text you want. Will automatically copy to clipboard.
To Select Text in Browser
hold the menu key (4 horizontal line button to the left of alt) and press E
- use you finger to select the text you want. Will automatically copy to clipboard.
To Select Text In Editor
tap where you want to begin, hold menu and press the d-pad in the direction you want to select.
Copy
once text is selected, hold the menu key and then press C
- don't have to do this step in GMAIL or Browser because it is automatically copied after you lift you finger
PASTE
hold the menu key and then press V
- will paste selected text
Delete All
press the Alt key and then Del
- be careful though
NUMBERS and SYMBOLS (gold characters)
press ALT once for single character, press ALT twice total for NUM/SYM lock
INTERNATIONAL CHARACTERS (i think that is what they are called)
Hold the letter that looks like the character you want. A menu will then pop up. For instance if you hold the 'O' character, you can choose Ò, Ó, Ô, Õ, etc. For 'I', you can choose Ì, Í, Î, etc. You get the point....
I tried to test as much as possible. If you find something in error, please let me know.
I'll add more as I find then

The Alt twice I didn't know, thx.

Was playing around with the physical keyboard. How do you select and copy ALL text in an email? I can only seem to select what I can see on the screen.
-
I haven't figured that out yet. I have just copied portions into whatever I needed the information in but its freakin annoying.
I wish that if you press reply that the original text would be put in the editable box, that way it would just be a SHIFT + CURSOR thing, but it doesn't.

Yep, it's impossible to edit/trim the quoted text in the gmail app. Go vote on this defect.
