I am getting file not found while trying flash 10.1 in market.
I'm a new member here. I just installed this on my non-rooted or modified Droid and it works perfect! Like others, I'm also having problems with Flash, but as someone said in this thread, it's being worked on. I have not tried the beta version yet as the link said it was for the Nexus One.
And I'll reiterate what has already been said: No wi-fi tether. In the settings, there is a place for USB tether, but once you hook-up your computer and check that box, it only redirects you to the Verizon website where it tells you to subscribe to their tethering package.
However, I was using PDANet before for tethering and it works great in 2.2 just as it did in 2.1. I was worried somehow they would have disabled it.
I'm on CyanogenMod 6 RC2.
What is the quickest way to get the official Verizon Froyo ROM installed?
Do I simply do a Titanium backup and then install update.zip from ROM Manager? Restore apps after 2.2 update?
ROM Manager only lists 2.0.1 in the stock images section. I do not want to go back to 2.0.1, then have to do 2.1 update and then 2.2 update.
What is the best way to do this?
Here's the apk...
Downloads - chrometophone - Project Hosting on Google Code
LinPack 9.22, is that good?
Has anyone tried Pandora to see if the bug was fixed with bad quality AAC?
Issue 9308 - android - eaac+ and aac+ decoding sound quality problems (Android 2.2) - Project Hosting on Google Code
Just my report:
I downloaded the update.zip and went through the instructions and put it on my phone. Install went smoothly, and I re-booted my phone. As others have said, the reboot takes awhile, but it got there eventually.. I had little trouble getting Flash to work. Downloaded the APK file as well as the Adobe Showcase from the Market. It all seems to be working so far.
Some thoughts I would like to point out.
-The entire process from downloading the update, to installing, to re-booting the phone took about 15 mins in all. Very simple, very straightforward.
-Froyo is fantastic so far. Phone is running faster and smoother than on 2.1. I'm debating going back to LauncherPro, as I had grown accustomed to it and like the features.
-Flash works, more or less. It's running slow right now on Dolphin Browser. Kinda chugs along during videos. But I'm hoping I just need to do another reboot and that should be solved. Maybe when the official Flash update hits Market, it will solve any issues.
-I like the new car and home docking screens. The home dock doesn't seem to hang up at all like it used to occasionally do.
-The only thing I'm not too wild on is the Messaging layout. I don't really care for how it displays the person's icon next to every text sent or received. Maybe I can change the settings, I honestly haven't looked yet.
-Tethering seems to work fine with my 3rd party app. It was worth the few bucks I paid, so even if Motorola/Verizon said no tethering on Froyo, it's of no concern to me personally.
