I want to get Froyo on my Droid but I am not willing to lose all of my data such as preferences, home screens, apps, etc. Do any of these 2.2 hacks allow me to just do an "upgrade" to 2.2 and keep data like the official upgrade will eventually do?

if you want FROYO now...then no, unless you want to have many many problems due to not wiping data.
Titanium backup pro allows you to save pretty much all of your settings so when you do wipe you can just restore them all
Titanium Backup is what I use all the time. I had to test out my theme on 3 themes this past week and I just wiped everytime and used Titanium backup to restore all my apps, data, and homescreen setup. It's amazing. And FREE!
