Need help with Camera, photo's not showing in Gallery

Im sure this is user-error somehow

I took a few pics just now, and if i click the little preview thumbnail while camera is open, i can see the pic. But when i click Gallery, its not there.

Same thing happened to a video i took the other day, i couldnt find it afterward.

For whatever reason, the gallery doesn't immediately refresh its catalog. Sometimes going in and out of the app does it. Sometimes a reboot of the phone forces it to refresh. You can also use a file browser, like Astro to go to the directory and open the file. When it asks you which app you'd like to use for viewing the file. If you select the Gallery, then it forces the gallery to update its catalog.

I hate the gallery app.

Whoah are you serious?? How can it be possible they launched this phone with one of the big features having such a glitch?

FWIW i ordered an incredible which i may have in a few weeks, is it the same deal on that device that you know of?

Download SDRescan from the market. It will refresh the contents of the SD card. Takes a few seconds.

I had the same issue myself. I took a picture on a Monday and when I went to look at it 2 days later it wasn't there! Other pics from that day showed up that day even. Eventually to my surprise (I'd thought they disappeared) said photos suddenly appeared. I noticed a delay in pics appearing but never that much of one..I hope it's something that gets fixed but if not I can live with it..

I've had the same issue. Usually if nothing else, a reboot gets them to show in the gallery. Though Astro will show the contents of the directory right away.

I have had an issue where there are some pics I know I took that are completely missing. No gallery, no Astro, just gone.

A quicker way to get the picture to the gallery is after you take it and the camera opens back up click on the thumbnail in the upper right of the camera. It will show the last picture you just took, click on it then click done it will automatically go straight to the gallery. And yes it is a pain and yes the camera sucks. I played with the new HTC droid at VZW over the weekend the 8mp camera super fast and super responsive. I was really impressed quicker than my little Leica

Download SDRescan from the market.

Do this. It's free and now when I take a bunch of pics I click that first before trying to go to the gallery to view/edit them.
