OFFICIAL: Droid 2 Pre-Release thread

Well, I just finished reading all 50 pages of the thread on Howard Forums and here's what I believe to be the known specs for the Shadow:

• It's currently named MB810 for FCC purposes
• When released, it will be called the Droid Extreme
• Has a 4.1" screen
• Powered by a TI OMAP3630 ARM Cortex A8
• Has an 8MP camera with Dual LED Flash
• Records video at 720p
• Outputs 720p video through HDMI
• Has between 2-8GB of internal storage
• Has no QWERTY keyboard
• Has 4 buttons at the bottom like the HTC HD2
• Currently runs Android 2.1 with Moto Blur, but Verizon doesn't want to pay for Blur to be on the phone, so we'll see
• Is all black, square and has a metallic red camera button
• Is about 9mm thin
• Is slated for July release only on Verizon

Ok then I'm sitting tight. My Moto is taking a dump. So gotta go through the hassle of rerooting and putting a custom rom on it....
I can hold out as long as it's rooted and customized....

Then may I suggest Bugless Beast v1.0 w/ the Bekit 800 Mhz 7 slot kernel? I updated to that last night and it is really fast. I mean like the Droid becomes a new phone fast.

I don't use ROM manager so I couldn't tell you. I am a bit old school. SPRecovery and ADB shell.

To other questions about the appearance, he replied, "didnt someone already say the shadow looks like the htc hd2? if thats what they said then they are right. so base your mental images on that."

Blech. Not a fan of that ugly camera bulge. Honestly, I'd rather have the whole phone that thick than have that bulge there.

haven't heard/read anything about the processor clock speed but it will have the new OMAP in it. So it will fly.
