    help for a total newbie

    Hello all - hoping someone can help me -
    I have an offer from Verizon for a M. Droid 199.00 and they will wave the tethering fee ( Is tethering officially available? )
    Or I can go with Wirefly.com and get the droid for 19.00 but no waving the tethering fee -My main question is : I am totally tech savvy inept and wondering about the tethering hack - is it something that is free? Will verizon know Im tethering and hit me with charges ?
    Is it something that will be permanent or something Verizon will block?
    Please someone give me a clue to what is my best bet.

    Honestly i've never heard of a Tethering Fee. I wouldn't get a phone from anyone but Verizon though. Im that way with everything though. Even on my car i only do oil changes from dealerships because i know they are reliable.

    Yes - verizon wants 30 data plus 30 tethering fee
