2.1 stock browser double tap

Since updating to 2.1 the browser scrolls smoother and pinch and zoom is peachy keen, but double tap seems to have lost its ability to 'smart zoom' in on an area of text. It seems worse in landscape. In 2.0.1 I could double tap and it would automatically zoom to the text I was tapping and fit it to the screen. Now without fail I have to scroll to center the text every time I double tap. Hardly an improvement. That is all.

I wasn't aware that tap zooming was smart at all about where it zoomed

I just double tapped your reply and it worked, the screen centered on the text. I'm on Pete's rooted 2.1 now but for the last two days I was using the OTA. Hmmm...
