    Are you rooted? If not you you can't do the wireless tether. I have never tried doing a wired tether.

    pdanet, which is free, or easytether, which is 9.99, from the market tether to a desktop. If using pdanet go to the pdanet website http://www.junefabrics.com/android/index.php then download proper software then plug droid in usb and bada boom bada bang.
