Angry Delete 3 tasks

This problem started just a few days ago. I'll be in the middle of using an application, and the screen will return to my home screen and on the bottom of the screen is the notification "Delete 2 tasks" or "Delete 4 tasks" or "Delete 1 task". When I dock the Droid at night, it works for a while and then the Dock app quits and the Droid displays the home screen. I have deleted all apps that have the word "task" in them, except for Task Manager 1.11.7.
This is really irritating, and I hope I don't have to delete all my third-party apps, one at a time, to fix the problem.

A little help, please.

You're getting a message on your homescreen telling you to delete tasks/apps? Hmmm never seen/heard of this. Maybe it's just a memory usage problem. Try going in to settings and applications and clearing all your caches.

The message is enigmatic. It reads as if I am supposed to delete a task, but the effect is that the current task (and sometimes a couple others) is/are being deleted. The current game, or whatever, loses the current status. For example, if I had been listening to a podcast, when I start up Sound again, I have to re-select the tune.

I will try clearing the caches.
