You apparently forgot to count the recent Verizon outage -- IIRC, mainly for the east coast.

last year in feb we had a terrible ice storm that knocked a lot of people out of power and heat for over 3 weeks. att was down for several days during this emergency. all landlines were out too, the only way to make a cal was verizon to verizon. my blackberry that i had on att was worthless during this and my power was back in 24 hours but i wasnt able to call anyone to tell them to come to my house where its warm. a LOT of people in my area dropped att immediately. i stayed until recently and they never even offered us any type of credit or apology or anything. glad i switched to verizon now.
