02-13-2010 11:20 AMTry vacuuming it. LOL, I'm just thinking out loud before you take it back. I haven't seen anyone suggest this because it sounds so stupid. But maybe see if a vacuum nozzle can suck through the crevasses.

02-13-2010 11:21 AMgo to Verizon and get a new on make sure to undo root if you have it and remove any screen protectors that are applied by water if you have one. Such as (invisible shield)

02-13-2010 01:42 PMi have dust too. every phone/ electronic i've ever had has had major dust problems. i want to get a new one, but im worried i'd get one that has other problems.
got eris: 12/24/09
returned eris: 12/28/09
got droid: 12/31/09
rooted droid: sometime in january (right after it was released (manually))
bb->2.1 sbf->desire rom> 2.1bb> 2.2
got incredible as warranty replacement 8/31/10
shattered inc screen 9/25/10-> got insurace replacement 10/4/10
broke inc screen 10/19/10-> got warranty replacement 10/22/10
got moto droid 1 off ebay 1/7/11
broke inc screen 5/26/11-> got insurance replacement inc2 5/27/11
sold inc2 & bought vzw 16gb iphone 4 6/9/11

02-13-2010 01:44 PMThis has been discussed many times. If you have dust under your screen that's a legitimate reason for replacement. Verizon will honor the warranty, however I strongly recommend you handle it from the phone. The reaction to this from Verizon store to store may vary.

02-14-2010 01:17 PMI have dust under my screen. Went into a VZW store and they wouldn't replace it. Said that it was probably getting in through the ear speaker. Then they recommended a screen protector or case to prevent it. Which makes no sense since the opening for the speaker isn't covered by either.
Was very unhappy with the end result. They admitted they could see the dust but said because it's not interfering with operation (screen still perfectly responsive) I was not getting a replacement.
I will be calling CS this week to complain, as it's clearly a manufacturer defect. Naked or not, in my pocket or not, there shouldn't be ANYTHING under the glass.
If it was manufactured with no defect, it wouldn't allow the dust under the screen IMO. -

02-14-2010 01:32 PMI suggested the vacuuming idea as tongue in cheek and it was the first idea that popped into my twisted droid head. As Martin mentioned, you may not have any luck trying to get a replacement.
