Quality
I have had several Motorola phones in the past and they have all been junk. I usually end up returning over and over again because the break or stop working. How do you all feel about the quality of the Droid so far and what are some of the most common issues with them? Thanks for the help.

The Droid is by the best quality phone Motorola has ever created.....and I'm not just saying that because I have one and I'm an avid Droid fan, I truly mean that.

Mine has been absolutely rock-solid, with not one single legitimate issue. There are a lot of common issues that get talked about on the boards (ranging from trivial to significant), but you have to keep in mind that with producing so many high-end electronic devices; the more functions and moving parts, the more things there are to go wrong. So some of it is inevitable.. not to mention, that a lot of people only post or join a forum like this when they are experiencing a problem. I'm sure there are many owners out there that aren't even aware of this site because they've never had a problem. Droid is the first Moto I've owned and it is also easily the greatest phone I've ever owned.

Yeah I totally agree with all that. Most people that join this site are asking about a problem their having. And I've seen many problems...but I've also seen that with any electronic device, especially nice advanced devices will have so many ways that they can malfunction.
I've personally never had a problem with my Droid. I used to own a RAZR, and I was reluctant to buy a Droid just because the impression I had of Motorola after my RAZR, but I assure you, its nothing like that.....at all

I've had the Razr and the Slvr.
Both were very, very solid phones, imo. The Droid feels more expensive and better built. The only downside about the phone is that the screen tends to move in my pocket sometimes, not a big deal, but it happens.
I've always though Moto made very solid products and don't understand why many hate on them. If it wasn't for the Razr, no one else would be making slim phones. And if it was for the iPhone making smartphones mainstream, then we wouldn't have the Droid. Phones like the Razr really changed the game and gives us our slim and well-built phones we have today, such as the Droid.

I'm a former iPhone user. The Moto Droid is a better device. Very solid and reliable.

I had some trepidation at first too, cause my previous moto phones were not all that great, my last moto phone was a V710 or 810 or something like that, and it was a piece of .....
but this moto Droid is solid!

I am on my 4th Droid. I love everything about it but the sound quality. It sucks! I hear static on about 40% of my calls and on about 80% of my calls the person on the other end says my voice sounds "muffled" and "tinny" and "choppy". Totally unacceptable. Absolutely the worst sound quality on a cell phone I have ever experienced. If the 2.1 update doesn't improve the sound I am returning it to Verizon. See Motorola's Forum "DROID : Phone Sound Quality is not great".

These guys have summed it up very well. The last Motorola I owned was the Moto Q9c. The Droid is so much better that you can't even compare the two. This a great piece of hardware IMHO, and once you figure it all out, you too will be hooked!
