How do I know if I rooted my phone correctly?

Do you have a terminal emulator installed. If not, get one. If so, open it up and at the prompt ($) type su. After typing su, your prompt should change to the number symbol (#). Then you know that you are properly rooted.

Ummm.....where do I download a terminal emulator? And yes, I am an idiot when it comes to these things......but I figured I would give it a try.

Ummm........"uid 10113 not allowed to su" came up. I guess I am not rooted right. Where did you get your "update.zip" file???
