not recieving messages

my motorola droid will not recieve any messages and idk y everything else still works it just stopped recieving messages last nite can anyone give me a suggestion or help me cuz i dnt wana take it to verizon or would that b the better thing to do any help is good thank u

Have you tried a reboot?

How's your signal coverage?

How many / which apps do you have loaded?

Is airplane mode on?

I had the same thing happen. Only way I fixed it was a hard reset. Was not to bad with a nandroid backup. If you don't have one do a hard reset install your things make sure everything works right and then make one. Hope this helped.
