Can you vet me a job as a Rep? Lol
14 day trial period question: I got a Razr Maxx last week and was wondering if I returned it to try a Nexus and was unhappy, could I go back to the Maxx?
Store had no Nexus to try and I finally found one to fool with. Maxx gets great reception at my work, so I want to make sure I can go back to it if the Nexus doesn't.
With Verizon techs on here, let me express my disappointment. I was treated most unfairly by Verizon:
(1) Long time subscriber starting with Altell;
(2) Early purchaser of DROID and got "unlimite";
(3) Had two replacement droids using ASSurion insurance;
(4) Each time worked with Verizon store to activate new DROID;
(5) Had to wait to be eligible for new Droid Razr (three weeks). Verizon staff assured me I could have phone service while waiting by reactivating my old flip phone. I explained that would temporarily cancel my contract (unlimited) and did not want to put it at risk. OFfered to pay for it even though I didnt use it...if that would help. NOT NECESSARY.
(6) New DROID RAZR came out and I activated. VERIZON told me I "lost my unlimited due to break in service".
(7) I argued, and wrote the CEO of Verizon...all to no avail. Even had a guy tell me to look out because Verizon was trying every possible way to get out of unlimited service. I naevely said...nah...Verizon always treated me fairly and they assured me activating my old phone for three weeks did NOT put my plan at risk.
SO....I became another Verizon victim.
My dad & I are two of the lines in a four-line family plan, and we've been waiting to upgrade our OG Droids. Our time is finally up, and as I've been looking at the Droids that are available now, two questions have come to mind:Thanks!
- Amazon seems to be offering some nice prices on phones. If I go through them, do I run the risk of messing up the account such that I lose the grandfathered 'unlimited' data? Is there anything I'd have to do, to make sure that I don't lose it in the process of upgrading phones?
- Are the problems with the Bionic largely done with, now? If I were to buy one from a 3rd party (like Amazon), and I have problems (such that I end up having to get a new handset), would I lose my unlimited data?

DISCLAIMER: Not a VZW Rep, just sharing my experience.
I bought my phone through Amazon, and naturally, did not lose unlimited. I can't imagine why you'd think you would.
As for problems (assuming you're referring to warranty), Verizon is responsible for servicing the warranty regardless of where you got the phone. If someone at a store tells you that information is incorrect, you can rest assured that it's not and your phone will be replaced if it's in the warranty period and is a covered manufacturing defect.
I dunno... never bought from a 3rd party. I guess what I'm concerned about is that they'll screw up the contract renewal. Normally, that wouldn't be a big deal, but since I'm hoping to keep the grandfathered data, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't risking losing it...
If my contract is up, is it a better idea to cancel an old line and add a new one to get better pricing at amazon/wirefly for new lines? I would be giving up the unlimited data plan if I did this. As far as my number, I could care less.
