Anyway, my wife would also be moving to Verizon with me which brings me to my question - Can I purchase a Blackberry or Droid type phone outright and activate it on the network and avoid the datapack plan fee?
My wife would like a better phone than the typical feature phones that are offered without the datapack, but she doesn't use her phone for much other than texting and calling so I don't want to pay $30/month for a dataplan she doesn't need.
No can do.
He is right, can't do it. But you might be able to get the $9.99 discount for having voice and data.

OK kind of a awkward question but here goes.
I have a phone plan friends an family that I carry my mom dad brother an my dads mother on...so we just found out my grandmother has very little time left. So I was wondering if i can get rid of her line when she does pass on, will I still have to pay the termination fee?

There are options for early termination due to death, but I believe it is only at the account level. So, since the line is your name I believe you will need to complete the contract.
However, you can always change it to a broadband device, etc.. instead of keeping it a phone.

Funky texts from a funky number?
I just got my Incredible 2 a week ago and I keep getting these really strange texts from a really strange number. (In, fact, when I tried to dial the number, my phone told me I was calling Turkey.) The messages are from 900080002021. All the messages start with "://BREW:0x0106185d:" and then some numbers - and they all end with "GreensboroAP:ms04:IMAP4:2809100." Can someone please tell me what this is and how I can stop it? Thanks!

This is usually caused by having had a feature phone previously and having yahoo IM on it. There are instructions on how to fix it at vzw.com/support or you can call technical support.

I can't find it on the VZW support site ... is there something I should be searching for? Sorry to be so ignorant!

When is tiered data going to be implemented? Are there any talks of implementing a premium data fee? I was thinking of pulling the trigger on a Thunderbolt or Charge soon, and I would hate to wake up one day to see that the data rates have changed.
