    AT&T marketing on my droid?

Earlier today when I woke my phone and did the unlock pattern, what should appear but a full page web ad for me to switch to AT&T and get a free phone. Each time I woke it up from sleep it did the same thing. Called Verizon Customer Service and they hadn't heard anything about it.

This happened several times today but has now stopped spontaneously.

    Anyone else experience this?

    Regards,
    Dan

    Didn't know that

    Thanks.

Guess I'll have to be more discriminating in which apps I use.

Was this in your web browser?

I have never seen ads outside an app or my browser on my droid.

The application developers don't 'pick and choose' which ads appear within the application. The ads are fed to the app via a service like Google's AdSense.

This is a situation that has proved more than a little embarrassing for assorted websites...as the ad feed service they use sometimes feeds ads that are contrary to what the site is about.

I did not have a browser running but there were a couple of apps running. It didn't dawn on me that that could be the problem. Don't know which one was the culprit but when/if I do find out, it will go to the bit bucket.

Yeah I was going to say you must have an Ad running in the background or left your browser open. I know Google likes online Ads but they arent that mean
