I think it is luck...I put my email into google voice for an invitation and ended up getting one a day later.

i signed up... and i got my invited a week later... but during that week i totally forgot my friend worked at google so i just called him up and he sent me a friend invite from his account haha
i'm not using it a whole lot right now.. i then got my original invite in the email but couldnt do anything with it lol since i'm already signed up
i was going to see if i could get a full new number version and a update of my original number but no ha

It's how Google's invite system works. Gmail was the same way.

Doesn't matter if you're a "Droider" or not.

Where does Google ask for your race? Exclusivity != racism. The latter can be considered a type of the former but not vice-versa (basic logic).

I got my invite a week after sending in my request from Google. But, like others, I had already gotten another from a friend in the meantime! I think patience is a key on this one.
