Can DROID use Blackberry PIN Messenging?

This is definitely a newbie question.

Many in my office use blackberries and they have the ability to send free text to each other via this PIN thingy.

Does DROID have something similar?

And can DROID use that network?

Sorry, this is my first smartphone so I am very new at this.

No. The closest thing is GTALK, which requires the user to establish their GTALK account. It's close to just sending an IM through AIM or something else.

Until they can intergrate it with Email there really isn't much use for it.

But for things like event planning and organized discussion it is very useful.

I'm almost afraid to ask but can you explain how that has anything to do with the topic of this thread?

I currently don't use it either, but I imagine I would if I had access to it on my mobile. BBM allows you to setup up small chatrooms where users can actually exchange pics and such. Wave can do that and much more, but no one uses it because of its incompatibility with mobile devices.

I unfortunately was not born with the patience to speed up those who lag behind. My apologies.
