Better POP3 Email App?
I am wondering if someone can suggest a better email app for use with POP3 accounts? I have been using the stock app but it is so limited I'd like to try to find something better. It would be nice if it would:
1. FORWARD attachments that it cant open. The stock app wont open WORD attachment files and refuses to forward them to gmail from the Droid (they view in gmail fine).
2. Better attachment support
3. Able to empty the TRASH folder without having to select every message.
4. a better way to select multiple messages for delete (ala BB).
Not looking for much. Just the basics and reliability.

1 and 2 are related. so are 3 and 4. if you use the gmail app, you have better control over your email and have the ability to manage emails through gmail.com (so if you need to do any mass functions, you can do them quicker through the browser).

yeah they are related and?
I use the gmail app for my gmail account but would like to keep that and my pop3 seperate hence the question.

I just forward the whole email with Att to my Gmail then view there, I hope that get fixed but to me a small price to pay for the rest of the phone.

gmail can check your pop3 accounts for you and label them to keep them separate.

I tried that and the Droid would not forward the attachments.

I know that but Id like to keep them seperate. I have been using gmail for personal email for a long time. The gmail app on the droid works great but the pop3 client is barely acceptable. It really doesnt need a whole ton of features but a few would make it work well enough.
Are there no decent pop3 clients for the droid out there?

have you tried k-9?
I just installed it today, seems to attempt to use quick office to open attachments. It does allow some sorting options, I don't have too much usage time with it yet.

I think k-9 is worse than the stock client app for my use. It is set to sort of mirror the server without any options for things like NEVER DELETE EMAIL ON SERVER etc. Oh well I guess I will muddle through with the stock app for now.
