    Is it worth it to try to get this crushed phone repaired?

    My Android Incredible was run over by a car (long story).

    It still powers up and I can access the hard drive, however, the touch screen is smashed.

    Do you think it has any hope of repair or any value for parts or is it a total loss?

    It would probably be cheaper to just do an insurance claim. You have insurance?

    No insurance or I would have filed a claim already.

    It is amazing that it turns on. The audio even works - it makes the Droid sound on startup.

    You can probably get someone to replace the led screen and digitizer then...and most likely the trackball button...or whatever it is. It might be cheaper to jusr buy a used one though at that point.

    Don't know where you are, but here in Minneapolis there is a guy who posts on Craigslist. He does screen replacements. I have seen his before(much like yours) and after pictures, and it looks like new. I think he charged like a $100.

    So maybe try looking on your local listings to see what you can find.

    Also I kinda live in the 'hood's and there are lots of little bodegas that ofyfer phone unlocking and repair. But again, it all depends on your location.

    I'd say its worth it, if you have a phone that can live through being crushed by a car, think of what else it could survive! And the no insurance is a big reason, I'd say look around at repair costs and look at ebay/craigslist for incredibles, used ones have dropped in price a lot

    I'd be hesitant to repair it, because you're going to spend $100-150 fixing it, and if there is some internal damage that doesn't become apparent until a month or two later... then you just wasted that repair money. Similar to water damage... you can dry out a phone and it functions perfectly, then all of a sudden weeks or months later something gets shorted out. What are the used ones going for in your area?

    Tough phone. There are a few other phones in the used market for a little more than $100. How do yo know there are no internal damages?
