What Other Network would you Switch to?

I wasn't really sure where to put this, so I'm apologizing in advanced. This new pricing for data plans are REALLY making me consider switch to another carrier. I'm thinking Sprint. Anyone have any better ideas?

Sprint. I will probably go to Sprint again. I was really disgusted when I went into the local Verizon store. It reminded me how crappy their customer service and pricing/policies are.

If I'm going to leave the best network for an inferior network, I'll probably go to whatever the best phone is. Wherever that Google Nexus phone is, or maybe the HTC Sensation (after it gets unlocked).

    That's IF I leave, which I probably won't be.

It really depends on where you live and what sort of usage you need.

Verizon is the only service in my area worth anything. They are the only one that gets reception inside my house in my findings. My sister in law has AT&T, and she couldn't place a call in my house she had to walk to the end of the driveway actually lol. Sprint, can get reception but not well inside my house, it is available on my back deck and quite well. The two places I spend most of my time, work and home, Verizon is the winner at both. It Verizon also currently has the fastest 4G network and soon to be if not already, the biggest 4G network as well.

As with most things in life, you have to pay a premium if you want the "best". If you live in an urban area you can probably get by with one of the smaller companies like Virgin, MetroPCS, Cricket. But if you go to the suburbs, you may not have such good luck.

To answer your question though, if I were to leave Verizon I guess I would go to Sprint as I really don't have a better option. Sprint's lineup of devices is rather nice. I have heard decent things about their customer service, they have decent pricing too.

The thing is for me, is that this really sucks. I've been a Verizon customer myself for probably about 7 years. My family has for over 10 years. Verizon is BY FAR the best coverage in my area. ATT and Sprint are the same, pretty decent but no where as near good as VZW. I'm really considering leaving. They've been going to far with these "policy changes"

While it depends on location and your personal situations as others said, I'm happy right now paying $30 a month for verizon's service on a family plan. I was only required to pay the $30/month for data of adding my line, as there was a $10 promotion to cover the cost of the line. If verizon's prices or data caps are too restrictive to me in the future when my contract ends late next year or early 2013, I'd likely look to virgin mobile for an alternative since they still have a soft 5GB cap, and their $25 a month plan works for me. However their speeds suck, and given sprint's 4g rollout and spectrum, I wouldn't expect to see any 4g on virgin mobile for at least 5 years.

If what you care about is unlimited data, then the only option for you is Sprint. They are the only ones left with unlimited data. AT&T did away with unlimited data months ago. T-Mobile still has unlimited data (while they remain as T-Mobile and not AT&T), but their unlimited is not really unlimited. They throttle you once you hit 2 GB in a month.

I was fortunate enough to get in on the special deal with a $20 discount on the $30 unlimited data plan, and I intend to hold on to that for as long as possible. Anyone who already has the unlimited plan for $30 can hold on to that as long as they don't change plans. They can change/upgrade phones and keep their current data (unless VZW comes out with a new phone requiring a special data plan).
Without a landline, one of the most important features for us is voice clarity. VZW has it, ATT doesn't. I cringe every time I try to talk to my son on his ATT iPhone.
We vacation in western Maryland, in a VZW "extended area", and data is painfully slow (1X), and coverage is a bit skimpy along the C&O canal, while ATT has high speed data coverage and better voice coverage along the canal and the Potomac River. But even that is not enough to make me switch, because of the voice clarity issue. All the other services (Sprint, TMo, prepaids) have inferior coverage.

It's not a question with a one-size-fits-all answer. Coverage matters most for my and Verizon has the best coverage where I need it. I might consider switching to a GSM carrier if I did more international travel. You really need to determine your priorities and shop based on them rather than poll everyone else who may or may not have entirely different priorities.

If Straight Talk had a decent phone, I'd switch there.
They are on CDMA, same as Verizon and friends I have with basic phones have the same signal strength coverge that I do.
However, as I understand it, a Verizon phone can't be flashed to their network.
