I know this is a ways off, but my Verizon contract on my OG Droid is up in January. The phone's still in great shape, so I don't plan on re-upping with a new device. I've never been off contract, so I'm looking into my options. Any suggestions?

I know this is a ways off, but my Verizon contract on my OG Droid is up in January. The phone's still in great shape, so I don't plan on re-upping with a new device. I've never been off contract, so I'm looking into my options. Any suggestions?
Are there carriers other than Verizon that I'll be able to use off contract? I know they're supposed to have the best coverage, but I think they charge an arm and a leg, even with the discount I get from work.
That's not entirely true, u can take it into cricket and they will flash it to work on their network (basically verizons network)

Thanks for the feedback. I checked Cricket's website, and they aren't offering contracts in my area. Does anyone have any experience with Boost Mobile? I might look into them as an option.

I've been using Pageplus since I bought a used Incredible last summer. Cost is much less than Verizon charges, yet I'm on their network. One downside is no unlimited data plan.
