I've looked but haven't found this asked yet - what controls the lights on the BACK/MENU/HOME/SEARCH keys? Mine go on and off seemingly at random.
Thanks in advance.

Light sensor.
If you have auto brightness enabled, they will go off in bright light, and come on in dim, batt saving measure.
I've had this happen several times the buttons don't light up even though the screen brightness changes when I touch the screen. What I've found that lights the buttons back up is to click the on and off button. Putting the screen to sleep and turning the screen back on always lights the buttons.
Thanks all for the tips. I am having fun with the Droid. I've hardly put it down since I've had it =0)
