    GV Text and Handcent alert at same time?? Anyone to turn off Handcent alert?

    Does anyone know how to turn off a GV text sent to my regular number?

    It's kinda weird when someone txt me via my GV number and then get a forwarded txt to my normal number while getting an alert on my GV app.

    Anyone have this problem and solve it?

    Log into your Google voice account online and adjust the settings there. There is an option to remove forwarding to your mobile number.

    I originally set mine up on the settings so it would not forward a notification to my regular number. This also saves on text that are being charged to your Verizon number (If you have a limit like I do).

    But I have searched and searched and I can't find the setting to do that anymore. It still works that way for me and I just removed the email notification as well. Don't need to be told 3 or 4 times that I have a text message.

    Well, this is not a problem really. You did let GV to forward it to your phone so it does it with your permission.

    You can go to your GV Setting and under "Voice & SMS" tab, make sure you uncheck the "Send a text (SMS) message to: Mobile"
