Plants vs. Zombies freezing on Galaxy Nexus after 1-2 minutes play time?
I had been excited about trying Plants vs. Zombies on my new Galaxy Nexus since I was upgrading from an original motorola droid which can't run the game. I can play for 1-2 minutes and the game freezes, requiring a force close. Anyone else having this problem?

No Zombies for my nexus
I am having the same issue, I have tried rebooting, killing other apps, re-installing; still no love ...

Same problem here. Glad to see it wasn't just me lol

Ditto
Ditto for me. Also, it's strange... the music will keep playing even after going back to the home screen and in settings->apps, the application shows as cached rather than active (Although it's taking up loads of memory... over 100 MB)

Email the dev. Sounds like the P's and Z's need an ICS update!

The problem is on the app side. Remember, it is just a port of the original game. Not a true android version.

the version from amazon works, if you turn on the force gpu rendering under developer options. without that enabled, it freezes after a minute or two...with it turned on though, it seems to work pretty well.

Are you 100% sure it works that way I have been debating on buying it if the was any way to get out to run. The bad ratings scared me away

For me it does...I just played for a good 20-25 minutes with no issues. All the way from the beginning to level 1-8...sometimes it will hang up on starting the app, but I'd say 80%-90% of the time it works just fine.
One other quirk I've found - sometimes when you exit out, if you don't go back into it by using the multitask button or go into the multitasking list and kill the app (i.e. swipe it away) first, it'll hang up when you go back in if you go in by launching it again...
While I'm glad i can finally play again, its really annoying that popcap still hasn't put out an ICS optimized version yet...

Okay thanks I might give it a try and let you know how it works
