Smart phone users are waiting for phone makers to adapt curved screen technology into something that makes their phones more usable. They want batteries that can flex with the screens. They also like things that make their phones more customizable and unique. Well, a Japanese company has adapted curved screen technology and flexible batteries to provide all of these things in spades.
Imagine a display with no bezels. One that curves around the sides of the phone. Imagine having customizable buttons on the side of the phone or being able to customize scrolling data in these areas. Semiconductor Energy Laboratory not only imagined that, they built it! Android Authority has reported on this new technology revealed at last month’s FPD International 2013 trade show (see link below). Be sure to watch the video in the link. Pretty amazing stuff if you ask me.
