Ignore the article title; apparently the editors and Wired are allowed to smoke crack while typing. Quite seriously though, will this madness never end? Soon Apple will be granted a patent on powering a device on via a button press, or charging a device via cable. This is complete and utter insanity.

07-18-2012 10:01 AMGood luck enforcing any of these patents... the patent office is so out of touch that its not funny. Apple was late in the game when it comes to mobile devices, so there's no way that the "charge by plugging in" patent will hold up.
This is laughable, Google should patent the process of manufacturing and then patenting too.... someone should patent frivolous lawsuits and then sue the crap out of apple... this is just getting stupid.
We should all start a petition like we did against verizon, just start it against the patent office.. call your senator and tell them you want action taken...
Not that these steps will do anything...
