Does this mean the bionic too will be set free? Maybe but it will probably come around the device's lifespan IMO.

From the article:

Moto indicated via its Twitter account that an unlock tool would be coming, saying "our goal is still to provide a way to unlock the bootloaders on our devices to those who wish to do so, more details to come."

i wouldn't hold my breath on this one. moto had mentioned bringing a way to unlock their devices when HTC started allowing their devices to be unlocked. they also passed the buck to vzw saying that it ultimately was up to them.

we can only hope that more companies follow samsung's move and offer "developer models" of their devices for Verizon customers. I won't be renewing my VZW contract (been month-to-month since January/February) so my next phone will be full retail anyways.

It really sucks that VZW has really decided to have a hard stance on the unlocked bootloader issue, EVERY OTHER U.S. CARRIER got an unlocked GSIII and VZW still tried to blame Samsung.

I just posted this in the news section. They are tweeting again that it will be happening soon. No, I don't believe it. It will never happen imho.
