Since ICS update when I type an apostrophe in an email it shows in the recipient's message as several odd symbols. Anyone having this problem?
It may be only a problem with the stock mail app, perhaps? I noticed Yahoo Mail has apostrophe's that translate without glitches so I switched back. Now I have the phantom notification lights but they are gone after a swipe.
I have a Droid 4 with a physical keyboard, and when I use the apostrophe key, the html code (something like "&apos") comes out. I've been told I'd have to wait until there's an update. Another thing I could do is switch to gmail, which doesn't have this problem, but it's just not right to make people switch to gmail from the account they normally use just because they have an Android. The most annoying thing is that proofreading doesn't help because it looks fine when I send it. I've tried changing the settings on this email account from html to plain text, but nothing helps. Even the people at the store where I got the phone couldn't fix the problem. Also, my emails (from other than gmail and exchange) are VERY slow.
