Seeing that pic makes me want one again. It's going to be a hard choice if Verizon ever gets it's act together.

Im in the same boat, tried the Note in the AT&T store and want one so bad. Of course Verizon has to be slacking and doesn't pick it up. Im really discouraged like the OP and really want one also.

I spoke with a few verizon reps at the mall and they said that the journal will be out around summer and it WILL NOT be by HTC, it will be Samsung. Now, not sure how accurate that is, but that is what they said. I hope that is true, and I hop it is the same size as the AT&T Not...5.3 inches. Making it smalling would be retarded.
Oh that does give me hope !!!! THANK YOU !!! :-)

Typically takes VZ half a year to catch up. Plus, they seem to like dropping the big phones in fall, I guess because it's Christmas? If you really wanted to ditch Verizon to get this phone, id go to Sprint, wholl probably get it before Verizon. Theyll probably get the GS3 before VZ too. Their service can't be much worse than ATT, plus it's unlimited!
I wonder if Samsung can/will make s-voice available to the Note/Journal or if new Verizon Journals will at least have it. That is the main feature that has me leaning towards the S3.
They have the stylus as an 'Accessory' but I doubt it would come with it.

I wish the tip was thinner on that pen. If I stay with Verizon or go to Sprint it is going to be a hard choice. Don't want to pay $800+ for it though.
So a little update for any who still care
After passing the Note over initially my Droid X started to really show its age so I started researching and the more I delved into the Note, the more I really wanted one. I was with verizon for several years up to this point and was mostly happy with them. But after researching everywhere, I found out Verizon wasn't getting the Note. So I dropped them and my unlimited data plan which I honestly hardly got past 500megs a month switched to AT&T so I could get a white Galaxy Note. Had to pay early termination fee also, so an expensive switch but so worth it! It picked it up at Costco for $250 with screen protectors, USB,car and wall charger and case along with waived activation free.
Amazingly, I was surprised to find I now had 4G speeds with my Note vs Verizon is still stuck in 3G in my state, so I gained a speed increase. I however blew threw my 300meg data plan within 2 weeks so I upgraded to 3gigs which is plenty for my needs as I mostly use Wifi.
AT&T service has been pretty good, only one dropped call since last month and have gotten my issues fixed over the phone or online chat pretty quick. I even managed to get my billing date changed even after I spent half an hour with a gal over the phone. I got a txt survey afterwards and I indicated I wasn't happy with the results. A few hours later, I got a call from AT&T manager stating they had overwritten limitation in system and gotten my billing date changed that I wanted. Verizon sure as hell never did anything like that in all the years I was with them!
Still anxiously awaiting ICS and premium software package would should be real soon as its launched in germany the other week. S-pen is fun to play with and taking screen snapshots is real nice for a variety of things. Downloaded Grand Theft Auto 3 for $.99 and it runs well real with all the options cranked up. This phablet rocks! Amazingly enough, it sounds like Verizon may not even get Galaxy S3 for starters either, AT&T and T-Mobile are confirmed carriers at this point.
Here's some 720p vid I took with the Note. Youtube dropped the quality a bit no matter what I tried during encoding FYI
