One thing I'd like to add: annoying apps that auto-start on reboot.

Why do some app developers write apps that auto-start on phone reboot, and have absolutely no option to turn off the auto-start feature in the settings? Don't they get it that sometimes we don't want their app running all the time and slowing down the reboot process? One is forced to make the decision to uninstall their annoying app to help/aid our inevitable reboot process.
e.g. many social networking apps fall in this category. Recently, the respected Google Maps has fallen into this category. Really annoying is when the app restarts itself, even after you manually kill it This kind of annoying behavior would not be tolerated by users under a desktop linux environment.
It's about time we identify a list of such apps and and the dubious app developers behind them.

Good apps that have an option to turn off the auto-start on reboot feature in the settings are like Trillian and imo.im

I see more updated versions of apps are auto-starting on phone reboot, with no option to disable the auto-start "feature"
I think I'm going to stop picking up app updates...
