Wow....Android outsold IPhone 2 to 1 in Q4! Plus, IPhone is on multiple carriers globally so that's pretty impressive.
The interesting thing is IOS has been basically flat while Symbian and BB have taken huge hits to share, clearly to the benefit of Android. That might seem to indicate that more savvy users are, in fact, choosing Android by a wide margin.
What?

Android is available in more countries, has ios beat device wise like 70 to 3, and comes at far cheaper prices than iphone from a global perspective. i think this just indicates that people are buying more toyotas than porsches....doesn't really mean the porsche is a crappy product. and clearly the toyota is an awesome product as well.
analyses like this are inherently skewed, because there's no level playing ground and never will be in the case of android vs ios.
Google Interview Q&A
Apple CEO, Verizon COO
"In a year, Android's market share has grown from 8.4% to 32.5%."
Wow, that's some serious growth there. It will be interesting to see if Apple does anything interesting with iPhone 5 or if it will just be a minor spec bump.

I should have dumped all my money and entire life savings in Google stock before Android got hot....

LOL, same could be said for Apple....Both stocks have been priced to perfection for years with few opportunities to get in at a good price.
I was afraid of Apple because of competition for the IPhone and an expectation the market overestimates the smartphone growth (which I'm wrong on, to this point), but then the IPad does ridiculous sales (still scratching my head there, didn't really expect them to be much more than a novelty).
I feel like there's less downside risk to Google and VZW, but nevertheless both are priced to perfection. And if the IPhone and/or LTE disappoints (with pretty lofty expectations priced in) on VZW the stock will take a bath.
