    possible to modify app for non rooted

    i have the lfy black themed facebook and i tried to give it to my friend for her phone but its not rooted so how would i go about modifying it for her use?
    rom= lfy 1.95
    kernel= p3droid 1.1
    theme= luna with hints of gold

    what i did was i copied it directly from my system/app to my sdcard and then wen i tried to install on her phone it said problem parsing package so i am thinking because its deodexed thet is the problem but i dont know
    rom= lfy 1.95

    That would do it, yes. You can't install deodexed stuff on an odexed ROM like that.

    To be honest, you might be better off posting the question over in the developers section, or (preferred), PMing some SMod to see if they'll move it for you.

    you can, but not when its set up as a system app. in order to make it so you can install it on your friends non rooted phone you need to sign it. I suggest using apk manager to easily sign the apk and then try installing that version. Also, your friend will need to uninstall the market version of the app from her phone before you can install the custom signed version.

    I've never tried taking a system app and installing it on a non rooted phone, so it is possible that you will need to use apk manager to decompile and then recompile and sign it, but I dont think that will be necessary.
