    Talking wheres the $$$@

    So im pretty good with HTML, and was thinking about learning JAVA, just didnt know what kinda money there is to be made.. would it be more just a hobby or is there money to be made for average to good Apps???

    Didnt a guy become a multi-millionaire off an iPhone app? I know, different platform but Im sure if it kicks off you might be able to make a nice chunk of change.

    Android is quickly becoming the hottest thing out. Soon all carriers will have at least 1 Android enabled phone. That is a lot of users. And if you know what your doing to make a good app there definitely is money to be made, don't quit your career to do it just yet though, but you can make good money. The thing is, people want good looking, fully functioning apps. Sometimes more good looking than fully functioning. Get familiar with photoshop and the draw9patcher in the android sdk, download eclipse and get set up in that, I grabbed the MOTODEV Studio as well, which is basically a spin-off of eclipse. Some other tools are Droiddraw, a hex editor, and any other tools you can find, there is tons of stuff out there.

    yeah im thinkin its a good idea ... im gonna dive right into JAVA lol already got the sdk up and running using eclipse. any other pointers ??

    Yeah good call, I wonder what the best way is to market, free with ads free with a donate vs. Or jus paid ?? Any thoughts ?

    I know nothing about making apps, but if it were me I would do a beta without ads. Get your name out there, take requests, improve on the app, once it's good to go, charge what you think it's worth.

    I read in the news that the guy who wrote the car finder app for Android is making $13,000 a month.

    Two days after that story came out, Apple sued HTC. Coincidence?
