How to open .img

anyone know how i can uncompress, or at least get so i can explor and copy files/folders out of a system.img file, i have some system.img [s]
but i don't know how to get them so i can explor them.. its in regards to my thread, which is in my signiture, so please check it out if you havn't already..

anyhelp would be greatly appreciated..

Try this, or let me know where the img is and I'll try it.

As always, if something gets toasted....not my fault, but let me know how it goes

copy the system.img to the root of your sdcard

From terminal emulator, the files should be viewable in the image directory:
su
mount -a -o ro,loop /sdcard/system.img /sdcard/woodyman/image
cd /sdcard/woodyman/image
ls
