    What difference does it make? Bootloader

    I have a Droid X running Liberty Gingerbread v0.7. My phone apparently has a locked bootloader. So what difference would it make if it was unlocked if I already have a custom ROM? I am not a developer just a simple user so explain to me why I need to jump on the unlocked bootloader wagon and I will! Otherwise IDGAS! !
