Question as a New developer
Hello.
I have a quick question as a new developer of android apps. I seen google offers a 48hr window for refunds of apps my question is once the person has payed for your application and downloaded it couldn't they steal it by asking for a refund and they keep the application?
That is one of my worries what does google do to prevent this? And what prevents them from clone-ing your app and reselling it?

There are a million ways to steal apps -- none of which the mods will allow here.
Are you concerned about Google stealing apps, or users stealing apps?
The former is nothing to be concerned about, and there's nothing you can do about the latter except trust that most people are honest.
Also, the refund window for apps is down to 15 minutes, not 24 or 48 hours.

The only way I can think of to prevent people from stealing apps if you make a lite version and the only way to get the full version is to purchase the product key. Now that takes more work but it will help cut down on pirating. And Lt. Ken is correct we do not tolerate pirating or linking to apps that pirate.

I'm not a dev, but as a user, I avoid apps that require means outside the Market to activate.
OP -- just make a good app. A lite/pro version might be necessary, but just make a good app. If it's good, we'll buy it.

I was NOT saying I wanted to pirate apps. I was saying is there anything the market does to keep people from doing that as I do not want to find the app I been working on for months on a warez site.
Thanks for the answers

If people want to pirate something they will. The only thing I know of to do is the lite/pro thing that was suggested.

Bmp to answer your question. No the market does nothing to deter pirating. As LTKen already pointed out as well, there is no way to stop pirating of an app.
This is why DF's has a zero tolerance policy on threads/posts that ask where to get them or post links to warez sites. We support developer's and take this very serious.

Anything besides the lite/full thing that I can put on my app?

Thank you so much for your quick reply!
My goal is to run this code on instances and speed up the process.
I'm too new to all the technology, so I had no idea where to start with, and I couldn't find any information about this stand-alone code.
I will try the way you suggested, and I might come back to this forum again
Thank you again
