    Looking for Help getting started

So ive been a php/jq/html developer for a few years now just on and off. im not the best but i can figure out anything. and looking over android, i know i could learn it. and im also one hell of a designer!

just looking for someone to maybe work along with while i get started, i dont have to many programing friends...

but Ive tried setting up the Java and Eclipse and SDK.
it never works. on any computer i try.
but even from there, im a little lost.

if you are running a Ubuntu 10.xx variant this script can help your build environment and the sdk and java. Then you can get Eclipse from the built in 'Software Manager' in your distro.

if you're using ubuntu then just download the latest eclipse from the website... indigo i the newest version but its a developer copy since its not released (and maybe buggy) & helios is the current version.

and use that for your build environment ^^

and make sure you're using X86_64 bit version of ubuntu.. since with 32bit you run into alot of problems

windows is a terrible system to build anything linux based...
cygwin is the only way to build android on windows & it's terrible at best.

my advice dualboot with a linux distro, or use a virtual machine (but thats not recommended because they're soooo slow)

i would use ubuntu 10.10 ... & make sure you dont update it to 11.04 alpha

i thought it would be a good idea to use a alpha version and that was a huge mistake (oh well its nice looking at least)

lol this is my #1001 post.
