New Text Characters?

My Android development skills are > Novice. However I would like to add some text Characters to my phone. My phone is rooted if this helps any, but I was wondering if was as simple as adding text to an existing folder? Any help would be appreciated.

never really herd of anyone putting anything other then different fonts on the phone...
its probably possible but then you would need to remap some keys on the physical keyboard in order to use them.... easier to just forget about it, especially if you have to ask about it.

You're probably right. I know a bit of Linux, but much less about Android. I thought maybe it was something I could do just on the Linux side. I will just forget about it then, however if I just quit everything I couldn't do I still wouldn't be able to poop in a toilette! I will take your advice in this case though; I'd rather have a phone I'm 99.99% happy with then a door wedge I'm 100% happy with. The key maybe to look into other fonts to see if I can find something in those. Thank You for the nudge.

what exactly are you looking for? because i'm sure you could send this text character to your phone and just copy and paste it once in awhile if thats all you needed it for.

The special characters are mapped to the space/symbol key on my droid, would it be possible to edit whatever file this is linked to......if so couldn't you just add any character you want without having to remap your keyboard......I don't know if I am even making sense jw

that just simply isn't as easy as it sounds... you need to either have a Linux machine to compile the android keyboard. plus i've never seen anyone have edited more characters under symbols.

I wanted additional math characters (integral, summation, infinite, exponents, logs etc..) and Greek letters.

there might be a keyboard on the market or see if the default keyboard has greek language
