App Inventor Limitations

I've been using app inventor for a couple days now and I must say, I'm
really impressed. I am NOT a programmer but I have used similar "drag
and drop" programing languages before (such as gamemaker).
However, app inventor currently seems to be quite limited. I wonder
what/ when new features will be added. I plan on using it to make real
high quality apps that I can sell on the market, but obviously it's
not quite ready for that yet.
Also, I know app inventor basically is just a GUI for Java programing
and I'm wondering if it would just be a better use of my time to learn
actual Java programming? However, I repeat, I AM NOT A PROGRAMMER! I
do have a small amount of experience with programming in Python but
not a lot at all. Would it be feasible to attempt leaning Java for
android on my own? Do you know anygood Java tutorial websites?

Hello - I noticed that you have an LG Optimus so I was wondering if you can let me know where and how I might be able to get the drivers for the App Inventor for the phone because right now the App Inventor Blocks Editor simply cannot connect to my phone and I think it is because I do not have the right drivers installed but I cannot find them anywhere. Can you help? Please advise. Thank you. - Mark Kamoski
