    Honeycomb question

Hey I was just wondering a really dumb question probably... But since android is open sourced... Won't honeycomb still if wanted be able to run on a D1 or more realalistic a Moto Atrix. I was just wondering if the hacking community will do this for the D1

Only time will tell for the d1. Just depends how graphically intensive honeycomb is. From the 1 video I seen of it on a motorola tablet I forget what one but it seemed like a pretty fancy ui and I definitely don't think the d1 could handle it. But to get a for sure answer we'll have to wait until google releases more info about the os.

Honeycomb won't come to phones till end of this year and wont be that good for phones. D1 users just use the UD rom and however they copy Honeycomb =op

i am sorry but you have never seen the d1 handle any ui with its gpu so how can you make such a claim?

The droid 1 has a really powerful SGX 340 inside.

There will be no "official" release of honeycomb for the OG Droid, so if honeycomb is going to be optimized to take full advantage of hardware acceleration then somebody is going to have to write us some drivers. By the time this is accomplished developers will be focusing on the next OS version. Just look at the case with Gingerbread. Since we don't have any "official" leaks happening, all the proprietary files that we would normally have access to are not there thus making life much morre difficult for developers.

Granted the Droid has a powwerful GPU, but it also has barely enough RAM to keep us facilitated.

Isn't Honeycomb for tablets? Ice Cream is 2.4 and the next release for phones.

If a nook color is capable of running the software pretty laggy (without the source code) can I know say that without a doubt if someone wanted to put Honeycomb on a D1 it is possible and would most likely run pretty well
