Loading a jar/jad file on my D1

First off... I'm not super tech savvy so please bear with me here. I have a D1, non-rooted, and I have a jar/jad application I'd like to run on my phone. Looking into it seems pretty overwhelming- several software packages to download on the computer, apps to download to the phone, doing stuff on the computer I've never really done before (at least not in over a decade...) maybe I'm making a bigger deal of it than it really is. If anyone has any tips/pointers I'd greatly appreciate it.
