About LinkBacksAlright so I pushed the new market to /system/app after renaming the old one to vending.bak---and (stupidly deleting it!!).
So things are fine.....or so I thought.
I can download free apps no problem or apps I already paid for.
But when I try to download a paid app, it force closes as soon as I hit "Buy" . freezes for a sec then FCs.
Any ideas?
I already tried deleting the data/cache of the Market, but no luck
If not, could anyone tell me how to revert to the old market after deleting the vending.apk? Can I just pull it from the ROM file somehow?

07-13-2011 06:11 PMGood catch. Just curious, are you rooted? I am rooted and cannot buy apps either. It just force closed but my wife is on stock and has no issues.

To get the old one, just unzip the rom file and copy it from /system/app and set the perms correct on it.

07-13-2011 07:39 PMyeah i read earlier that you can't buy the movies if you're rooted...it would stand to reason that you wouldn't be able to buy apps for the same reason.

09-06-2011 08:14 AMNot sure why anyone is having this problem. Both my DX and my wife's OG Droid are rooted and using the new market and purchasing apps is no problem.
The only reason you cannot rent movies through the market while rooted is because you can download the movie to your phone to watch offline. If you we rooted, you could access that movie for and gave it forever and share it with others so for copyright protection, rooted phones can't watch the movies. But this is not the case with paid apps since you are buying the apps vice renting.
