Contacts Issues

First of all....I can sync FROM Gmail contacts & calendar to my Charge but I cannot snync from the Charge back to Gmail on my computer. Secondly, when I do a search in contacts on my phone..........MOM for example.....she does not come up yet when I scroll through the contacts.....she is there and I don't have a clue why she doesn't come up when I search. This happens incidentally with a number of contacts.
