    Exclamation creating an initial backup

So I recently bought the Charge. It came with EE4 already installed on it which seems to have fixed the exploit used by GingerBreak to root the phone. Before I go screwing around this anymore I'd like to create a backup of the stock ROM with all the settings i've already fixed to my liking. Is this possible? I know how to get into Download mode but can't seem to do anything with it. I came from the D1 where this stuff was simpler with ROM Manager and ClockwordMod Recovery. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

cwm supports backups but you have to flash it with odin

ok, i have flashed cwm and created a backup of my current, mostly stock system. now time to try out some ROMs. in the event that i cant load a ROM or don't like it, can i just do a nandroid restore from the backup i just made, or does it have to be flashed with odin and be in the filename.tar.md5 format?

Just fyi, DO NOT USE Rom Manager. It does not play well with the Charge.

You can do a restore within CWM.
