I don't think so. I would install whatever launcher you want first. Set it as default, and then delete TW launcher.
Why do you feel like you need to delete TWlauncher?
I just never fancied tw Id like to remove it all together

There are a lot of users who have made a simple yet fateful error. Do not attempt to use CWM Recovery in an attempt to restore your Charge if you are running the Voodoo kernel. If you do, it will royally mess your phone and there is no current way to fix it. Hard lesson learned.
It has been suggested that you use Titanium Backup for system backup/restore for now until CWM Recovery is further tweaked.
Now that I got my phone back from fubar state I can flash the voodoo kernel and not make the same error twice.
I used Rom manager and flashed cwm and my phone is ok maybe two diff things

I just found out if you have to do a factory data reset on the device with the lag fix do it from the recovery mode
