How do I keep my root

Phone came up this morning with the newest update for the bionic I haven't installed it yet but what do I need to do in order to keep my phone rooted and get the update? Do I even need the update can I turn off the notification about it?

If you are forever rooted, you should be fine but you can also try the VooDoo root keeper app from the market...

I have not done the forever root. I just ran the voodoo ota rootkeeper says I am root protected so does that mean I am gtg on the update?

If you are currently rooted on .886 or .893, you should be able to make the edits...

    RootExplorer Method

    go to /system/bin/
open in text editor - mount_ext3.sh
add the following lines to the very bottom

    chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
    chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
    chmod 755 /system/app/Superuser.apk

What will this do? Will this allow me to keep my root by just adding those lines?

Saw in another post about the voodoo app not keeping the root. Will adding those lines from the above post work? Then go ahead and update?

Is anyone confirmed on 902 with root? I see people saying it will work with 4ever root but nobody yet has said they are on rooted 902.

    Just looking for a confirmation

95% sure I did the "forever root" after the last update. Just updated to 902 and have no root. Tips above didn't help (as I have no root, file edits were not saved).
