Questions about Unlocking Bionic

Hello everyone, im a new user to these forums and i just wanted to know if i could get some answers for some questions.
Im receiving a sign-up bonus for the air force soon, i wanted to use this to buy a cellphone.

My first option was to buy a Droid Bionic.
Ive been reading about unlocking have looked up some specs.
It says that the Droid Bionic uses CDMA, which to my understanding is like a integrated card.
But i read also that it uses

SIM (for LTE).
Will i be able to unlock this phone and use a prepaid sim card with it?

My second choice was to buy a Samsung Galaxy S II
The SGSII is obviously slightly more powerful and has increased battery life
SII - 720 Standby Hours vs Bionic - 200 Standby Hours
Also in google when i typed Galaxy S II Unlock i received alot of friendly links.
So it seems to be easier to unlock the SII then the Bionic

Honestly though, i would prefer the Bionic because its cheaper and does what i need it to do, and because i just find it appealing.
Which option would be the best?

Long story short, no. Bionic does not support GSM. Only unlocked Global phones will support CDMA and GSM, as in accept prepaid SIM cards. (Droid 3, Droid 2 Global)

What about the Droid Razr? or Droid X-2

No. Only Droid 3, Droid 2 Global, and Droid Incredible 2 have GSM and CDMA support right now. All other verizon devices, except for the iPhone4S, are CDMA only and will not accept a prepaid GSM sim card.

Thank you Byakushiki, I think im just going to buy the Samsung Galaxy S II.
The Droid 3 and Droid Incredible 2 just dont seem appealing to me.
