    no, z4root is for Froyo, you'll want the D3 One Click Root tool. You do need a computer to use it

    Sure mobile hotspot can be used without being rooted, you just have to pay for it.

    You could also use r3l3as3d root to root your Bionic. You could tether for free but there's certain risks for that. And the rooting process is fairly simple, but after you root there are a couple of ways to that your Bionic could get bricked.

    Before you do anything its a good idea to read around, these forums have a lot of useful info

    there is an FXZ file for the Bionic so if it gets bricked it can be recovered, but you will lose everything you have on the phone if that happens
